About

The Global Proficiency Certificate (GPC) allows you to distinguish yourself by documenting your co-curricular global experience. It demonstrates your personal initiative and your international competencies. The program is free and open to all currently enrolled (graduate and undergraduate) MASON students regardless of residency/citizenship status.

The GPC prepares you to LIVE, LEAD, and WORK in a cosmopolitan society, through immersion experiences and reflective activities. To earn your Global Proficiency Certificate, you meet program requirements by accruing points for different types of co-curricular experience.

You will:

  • Connect, network, and cultivate relationships with students, staff, and faculty from various cultural backgrounds.
  • Create life-long memories through participation in international and globally focused events and activities.
  • Gain intermediate level proficiency in a second language.
  • Expand your intercultural communication skills.
  • Synthesize international experiences in a portfolio project.
